On behalf of our client, an Award-Winning FinTech Company located in Athens, Greece, but operating in 200 countries worldwide, we are currently looking for a highly competent PHP Developer, to join its established and tech-advanced software development team.
Role Summary
You possess strong abilities to design, maintain, develop and refactor existing and new features and applications and are able to work on large and challenging projects while also serving as a potential mentor to other members of the team.
Key Accountabilities
- Researching and integrating new web technologies
- Developing, designing, implementing and testing new features/applications
- Maintaining and refactoring existing web applications such as the Company’s payment gateway, CRM and internal web services
- Cooperating closely with the design team and content writers to implement any necessary changes to the numerous company websites
- Overseeing the functionality of the aforementioned websites and solving any arising issues
- Performing site maintenance as needed, detecting and correcting occasional errors
- Staying abreast of the latest developments in the tech field, demonstrating awareness of emerging technologies and of services that may enhance the overall web experience
- Making relevant recommendations to the PHP FED & BED teams
- Resolving support tickets for IT related issues
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- BSc/MSc in Information Technology or similar
- Solid professional experience in PHP development and OOP principles
- Knowledge of PHP frameworks (Symfony, Laravel, CodeIgniter or other)
- Very good working knowledge of relational databases like MySQL
- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JQuery/JavaScript
- Thorough understanding of responsive web design and knowledge of relevant CSS libraries (i.e. Bootstrap)
- Strong testing skills
Strong Pluses
- Experience with the Symfony Framework/Components in particular
- Experience in the development of REST APIs
- Ability to refactor non testable code
- Experience in creating composer packages, using version control systems like Git and writing tests with PHPUnit
- Working knowledge of database query optimization
- Experience in message brokers like RabbitMQ
- Experience in front-end frameworks like ReactJs
- Good knowledge of WordPress; knowledge of any other CMS is considered an advantage
- Experience with consuming 3rd party web services
